Philosophy

We are living in the most dangerous time in history.

Over the past 80 years there have been two dominant political ideologies. Communism has failed. Capitalism is out of control, causing aggressive trade policies, wars, an increasing gap between rich and poor and massive destruction of the environment. Nations have become increasingly hard to define as multinational corporations have taken control of governmental policies throughout the world.

Since September 11 2001 the situation has become worse. Racial and religious intolerance has been aggravated. The US is designing new nuclear weapons and threatening to use them on seven different countries, and is even planning to put them into space.

The ultimate expression of greed and aggression is the possession of nuclear weapons. They consume an enormous amount of resources, and nuclear war could destroy our planet. Despite this the US and China continue to develop their nuclear arsenals. Russia, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea have also joined in.

If our planet is to avoid being destroyed by nuclear war we must rapidly take steps to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
